King Solomon, who wrote most of the Book of
Proverbs, was endowed with both spiritual and practical wisdom
that he received from God. We can have that same wisdom by
studying this great book of wisdom and following its advice.
Proverbs 16:16: "How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!
and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!" |
I hope you have been enjoying the scriptures in
Jackie's Weekly Corner. I'd love to include your favorites.

I just wanted to thank all of you
for this web site. I am very new to machine
embroidery, disabled and live in the middle of
nowhere. I now have samples to learn how to do
this.
All of you are so talented!!! You
are artists.
And your games are fun, I tried and
found them

Designs
From
3 Bells Embroidery |
Winter can be so long for me in
snowy upstate New York , so I try to keep busy.
Usually I'm outside all day as I work in
landscaping.I like to make pictures that show the
beauty of nature. These three designs of the
chickadee are from the For The Birds collection by
Three Bells. I like the way they first use a
stabilizing stitch under the whole design to
ultimately keep the design smooth. Dianne

The
Traveling Embroiderer
By Viv Gibson (Rose Cottage
Embroidery)
Happy late New Years to everyone!
We are wintering in Key West Florida this year. We arrived the
First of October and will leave 1st of March. Its been great
here and I have really been inspired by the flora and Fauna Key
West is the only Caribbean Island in the United States and
everything seems so unique here. This past year we have had the
opportunity to meet many of the members of the Rose Cottage
List. What wonderful people we have on the Internet We have also
gotten many invitations to travel abroad and plan to do that as
as time permits. One in particular invitation is to Ireland.
That has always been my Husbands dream trip. Our Digi Challenge
is in its second year and has been a great success. We have a
lot of new embroiders that have learned more about digitizing
and some more experienced digitizers that have been inspired to
try something new. Providing the art work certainly keeps me
busy and I love to see all the different designs and what the
contributors send back to us. I have kept my photographer
husband busy with his camera and have lots of great photos to
digitize from. I am working on just how to portray a double
Hibiscus in embroidery. I am looking forward to what this year
will bring us in the embroidery arts. Our Art is one that grows
and changes with time. I have been doing more Scenic designs
rather than individual objects. But I still love to just
look at a sea shell or vegetable and work on just how to portray
it in embroidery. So far I have been pretty successful in that
area. You will be surprised at what I have lined up for the
coming year so visit the web site often and of course there's
always new freebies. I just put up a beautiful Mardi Gras Mask
on one of my web pages and you are welcome to it. Its not
hidden. I wish everyone a very happy Valentines day and a
wonderful Mardi Gras! Viv

EMBROIDERY
TIP 1 |
With time
embroidery threads can become brittle and break. Try
always to keep your embroidery threads in a closed
container and at the same temperature. |
|
EMBROIDERY
TIP 2 |
Some threads
with time become a little brittle and start breaking
while using them. |
If this is the
case, try using a Silicone Spray lubricant to sort out
the problem. |
