Before I became a
full time stitcher/Digitizer/Traveler I worked at a Naval Weapon
Station at Indian Island. One of the Navy wives was a full blooded
American Indian and she made and held classes on making Dream
Catchers. I made small ones that could hang in our RV. I also
made larger ones for my entire family. The feathers were gathered
from around the island. For me it was not Indian legend but a
reminder of Gods love and protection... Turn my worries and
concerns over and He would provide the answers and peace. The
dream catcher has different designs from different areas of the
country. I have the spider web, woven and knot versions as well
as the horseshoe included in this set. The horseshoe is not
suitable as appliqué but the hoop designs can be made with sheer
fabric and WSS for hanging. OR you could do them as cutwork. OR
as appliqué. OR . There are blanks of the dream catchers in hoop
and coaster versions. I have included various feathers and bead
sizes for your personal touch. A portion of the designs are
pictured below.
